Park, Soon-dong: He joined military operation NAPKO project as a student soldier.

Park was conscripted as a student soldier for fighting Japan in Asia. He and his pal escaped and surrendered to the British until they were accepted by U.S. OSS. Later, they participated in the military training to infiltrate Korea to tell the world that 2.3 million Koreans are wholeheartedly supporting the independence movement. He was in operation training at Catalina Island off of Southern California when the Pacific War came to an end in 1945. In 1999, the South Korean government posthumously recognized him with the National Foundation Commendation for his sacrificial contribution to Korean independence.
